April is the Cruellest Month

London is Burning
Acrylic and Digital

"I will show you fear in a handful of dust."

"A woman drew her long black hair out tight
And fiddled whisper music on those strings"

Inspired by T.S. Eliot's "The Waste Land", with subconscious recollection of John Constantine's appearance in Sandman (Pointed out by my husband, who found the subject matter similar).

John Constantine, Hellblazer, and Sandman are © DC/Vertigo Comics.

That's one of my favorite poems and I can see it in this picture. GREAT job.

I wanted to fit in all the wandering souls too, but felt it would be too cluttered. :( So I made sort of a ghostly mist instead.

Thank you! I've ♥ T.S. Eliot ever since I read "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" in high school. XD

A friend brought up that it reminded her of Nero playing the violin while Rome burned. I thought it was an awesome and fitting comparison. XD

Ooh yay, Doctor cosplay! ♥ Where did you find a Police call box to pose with?

Thanks! I didn't know you were a Hellblazer fan. :)

I always love it when two art styles and techniques mesh together into something new. :) Crossing the lines is always fun and with this I can barely say when the acrylic go into digital and vice versa. Brilliant hybrid. I also like the massive arson in London...
